We were smitten at first site

And by chance that we met

It seemed only yesterday

We shared our first night

You’re soul, life, my purpose

The pain I don’t want to see

Of a quarrel on the rampage:

A crisis? It’s just a spat!

As I wake to be alone

I see again your heartfelt note

And the tears in your eyes

In echoes of my dreams

You wanted the moon

Now I’ll give you time too

I’ll turn back our clock

I’m diminished without you

Wow! The satin smooth flow of this excellently crafted write carried me along like a rolling river - effortlessly, as I read! The devestation of a lover's tiff and the destruction left in its wake are very poetically penned. The loneliness is tangible, it speaks loudly and clearly to the reader though both excellent word choice and visual detail which touched my heart as I read. Goodbye is never easy and in this sterling write, your pen is dipped in tears instead of ink! A very compelling write, powerfully expressed. Thank you for sharing, Dom. With Hugssssss...

I think the line 'I wake to be alone' says it all - like the soundless words of silence
