The Other Faces

I touched your sunkissed golden skin

To feel an icy chill within

I thought I heard you speak my name

The introduction to your heartless game

I swore you held me in your heart

What a fool I was, to play the part

I saw another face on you

Not one or two, I saw a few

I tried to ignore, to close my eyes

But no longer could your lies disguise

I miss the you that first shone through

Goodbye my sweet..... to each of you

Interesting idea and well written.

Hi Monique,

It's a good last line ... "to each of you" ... once you'd peeled the mask and reveal the "real", the only thing to do is bid goodbye. Abe Lincoln once said, "If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?"

Well done.
