earth-colored eyes

look down

at mine, struggling

to escape

my gaze

trapped and

bewildered, shy

and afraid, his

look drives

me insane

feeling, not

touching, cowardly

stare, melding

his soul with mine

please free

me instead,

let emotions run

dead, denying

love evermore
