I hear a voice inside
It persuades me to abide
By every will untold
To change into a pot of gold
I head towards a pretty road
That unscathed welcomes me aboard
It shows me the path ahead
That I could have easily missed instead
I feel the wind pass by
It halts to rest with a sigh
I ask if all it does is just blow?
It answers: “Just the way you deserve it - Either crazy, fast or slow!”
Still unsure, I sit under a tree for sometime
Which beneath it’s shade makes me feel sublime
It knows I’m lost and gently points the way
I get up and tread on in the direction it did sway
I realize that there’s a storm coming
I waste no time and keep running
I yell, asking why upon me it had to befall
It winks back saying: “To show you your destination to which you need crawl.”
Puffing and panting I climb up high and dry
Thunder and lightning tear open the skies to cry
Shivering I look around as the rain hits my face
Only to see the trail ahead wiped out without a trace
I wait in silence for some calm
Hugging myself with bare white knuckled palms
A wandering mind quenched by the roar within
Comes to a standstill as I understand it’s true rhythm
It’s all bright now, as if the gale and squall had ceased to exist
I soak myself in the sunbeam impossible to resist
The sun smiles at me as I sense the truth upon me dawn
I’d never have reached so far if it weren’t for the wind and rainstorm.
