Please help me! I don't know which derection I should go in my novel. I can stick to my fictional novel and make up everything that happens, or I can make a new novel about my life with my family. I do like what I have writen in my fictional novel but in a real life story it would be more interestion becuase it is what happend not what I'm making up. PLEASE give me some ideas.

Hi Snow Cone. Why not do both?

You could, first, write down the main points of your story about your family and save it.

Then from time to time, depending on your mood, you could open the appropriate document and write accordingly.

I have quite a few "beginning" that I know I will get back to someday - and I often do. But the time and the mood has to be just right.

Hope this helps!!!! Happy writing!

Thanks, it does. Maybe you can help me with one other thing. I don't know which way to go on my fictional novel. I know that I want my main charater to move down south stay the summer with her uncle and his family but I'm not sure how to get her down there. I was thinking her mom would get very sick and not be able to take care of her but now I'm feeling that the book would be to perdictable and I want it to surpise people and be unexpected. What do you think?

Hi Snow Cone,

What is the character's background could there be a competition that would drag her there? Maybe she just ups and leaves because she falls out with her mother? Maybe its the school holidays and her mum needs to work so can't look after her that way? Just a few suggestions.

Hope this helps you.

Hi Snow Cone,

I often find it better to have at least two projects on the go. That way if I run out of steam with one I don't have to stop being productive.

Hope it goes well.

Seriously I'd head for a dictionary or a spell check before setting out to write a novel!

Snow Cone, You are 13 and have started a book, that is commendable. Mistakes are a part of life that makes learning a purpose worthwhile. Noone ever finishes learning. Computers are a dear with spellings, as are dictionary but then even the best writers have editors. Reason why the Boss of Newspaper is called Chief Editor!

One some said " to write a good story let your imagination flow....and you can keep changing it till it says what you want it to....because you are the creator of it.
Snow Cone, keep on...

Hey there Snow Cone!
I think that you should work on both novels at once, or at least think about both of them and make notes about them, etc, because then if one of them goes kaput you have something to work on that you are familiar with already.
On your dilemma with not knowing where to go with your fictional novel, I would advise making an outline with what would happen if she stayed where she is or if she moves. This will not only help you get out of the position you are in, it will help you to avoid further problems.
Keep writing!

Why not start with an experience you have had and give it a bit of a more dramatic twist?

You should go in the direction of a spell checker for your computer!
