i have newly joined the writer's circle. I don't know if its possible for me to get the ariticle or the instructions for writing a novel you have made or provided.
Please let me know how can i get more information about writing a novel.

I've recently started writing a novel after 3 1/2 years of planning(the problem is that i'm now writing and planning at the same time which is quite exhausting), i'm on my 3rd chapter so far and have quite a clear view of what i'm planning ahead of me. There are times when i wonder if there is any point to this, if i'm setting myself up for unrealistic goals but the support of others gives me the inspiration i need to stop me from giving up.

I'm writing a children's novel at the moment. I'm hoping that for once I will finish it. I keep getting disheartened so I don't know if I will ever finish a book. I seem to loose my way after the first few chapters and have many half hearted attempts at novels scattered around!

I have started on a sci-fi novel, and have got the entire overview from start to end. I have broken the novel down into chapters and have included a gist of the story within each chapter. However, as I write, I discover that it will be difficult for me to attain my 80,000-word target.
I have now set that novel aside and am pursuing other writing projects. I hope that I´ll be able to motivate myself in the near future to open that document and continue with my writing.

I'm writing a full length novel. I took a break from it for a few years--now I'm going back to it to try and cut out all the junk. There's a lot of good stuff in it, but a lot of stuff that doesn't work now that I've had a few years to cool on it.
There's a bout 329 pages so far, but a lot of things will need to be clipped and rewritten--which I couldn't really do in Microsoft Word, so I'd been putting it off until I could find something a bit more flexible in writing.
Hopefully, I'll find something soon that will fit the bill and allow me to really get to it.

I have completed two novels and have four trilogies planned out. I'm working on the sequel to one of the books, but I've just started. Good luck!

I'm working on two novels right now. I'm a new writer and everything I read says you should work on one project at a time but this way if I get bored with one I can work on the other. They both have several full chapters written, lots of reasearch and outlining. I'm trying the snowflake on one and a regular outline on the other to see which works better for me.

I've just finished the second draft of my first full-length novel. Many more drafts to go i fear. Triolgy planned.

I keep starting but am never structured enough to finish but am starting on a new project that I am hopeful for at least two books possibly more.

For years I have had all these ideas in my head for at least 3 novels but don't ever seem to have the motivation or time to get started. Maybe now that I have joined the Writers Circle it will hopefully give me an incentive to plough ahead with the first novel.
I haved started on them previously but for some reason, maybe from lack of confidence, I just never seem to get far with any of them. Am already feeling more motivated from reading articles on this site.

Yes, I'd finished an entire book series, from #1-6 for the last few years (Since 2004-2006). Since then, I'd haven't want back to it ever since. So after about a good two and an half years, I'd decided to rewrite the whole series all over again, and decided to call it the "Garbo-Gaiden" using the My Novel software as a way to get started. I'd already have started and finished the first book of the gaiden series.
The first three chapters were from the My Novel that I'd used. The rest I continued on an another novel software named Ywriter. Really crafty, but not like My Novel(even though it's a demo).
I'm going to take myself the whole summer of '09 to finish the whole thing all over again. Only with more characters, more chapters, more scenes, and more drama. Anything to relive the journey again, even if it's for the last time. Then after all that, I'm going to publish the "Angel-Gaiden" 1-4 and after that, I'm going to write more poetry, while getting in touch with my agent about selling more of my books.

I just started writing a few months ago. I'd get a few chapters and then the ide would morph and I'd start another book in pretty much the same "universe". Right now, I'm in Chapter 11 of my current universe. It's science fiction, but I've taken idea's from many areas. I wrote a prequel chapter first. It's not really a part of my story, but I wanted to create a history so I could stay consistent. I will probably go back and make another book out of the storyline of the prequel.

I am currently writing a historical fiction novel and stand at about 70,000 words and am about two-thirds done. I began with an outline, but I quicky found that my characters have taken on their own lives so my outline has been rendered useless. I write at least 4 hours a day on weekdays...will I finish? You bet!
I will continue to write until my characters finish their stories and then reverse engineer the book to edit out parts and characters that are not essential to the story.
I'm a big believer that you are done editing when you can't take anything more away from your story. All the extra parts are not wasted as they can be used for sequels or as fodder for other novels.
Either way, I can't wait to get to my desk each day so that I can see what my characters will do next!!!

I am not working on a novel. I do plan on starting one very, very soon though! I wrote a fairly short story, although it has several parts to it. Feel free to read it (The Magical Shoes Part 1-11). The parts are not very long either.
