When Madame Curie in the year 1898 discovered radium she may as well have set off an industrial bomb. Because of the nieve and untrained scientists of the late 1800's, radium and uranium ore was inserted into everything from toothpaste to lip gloss. Because of it's shiny, plasma core it got put into beauty cream which made your skin shin. Suppositries, tea, wrist whatches even barrels of radium drinking water were made, radium was noted for it's ability to give your lifestyle, a healthy twist when nowdays it is more recognised for its explosive inequalities and ability to mutate newborn children and adults. In the early 1960's the 'Atomic Playset' was invented which let children as young as five years old play with real amounts of radioactivity. Although in that time, it was viewed as an ecademic and educational toy, I personaly do not know many parents today willing to let their children play with uranium ore, one of the most explosive chemicals on the periodic table.
Yes, radioactivity hit high levels of products, making plenty people rich. I wonder when they finally figured out that it was killing them? One type of Radium Products was said to cure Stomach Cancer, and well, yes it did kill the bad germs but it also killed just about every other organism in your body.
Madame Curie died in year 1984 aged 66, ironicly dieing of radion poisoning, her own invetion. Talk about ironicy! Well, radiation took it's course through history changing lives and leaving long term effects, death mainly. It crept into world war two, into the germans hands and believe me that changed the war a bit. Too bad it got into hitlers hands!
Radiation killed millions, mutated thousands and amazed hundreds of thousands of people throughout history. Imagine the uses of radium in those days, brushing your teeth with radioactivity! Scientists now porve that it didn't just make your teeth shiny, it made them rot and fall out leaving radiation poisoing in the gums, killing you. Well, I just wanted to see how this worked out thanks for reading and believe it or not, they had radioactive chocolate bars manufactured in Germany!
Thankyou for reading!
