Just mouthing off, don't mind me… It's just my take on how things are playing out, while we sleep, pretending to be awake. The Revolution

By J Sankey

Talk of revolution by the poor and the middle class — the 99% — is once again in the air, on both sides of the political spectrum, be it Democrat or Republican. While we point the finger at one another blaming the other side for one another's woes, the ultra-rich is laughing at us — all the way to the bank.

I'm sure you've heard the Edelman's account of the Boiling Frog Syndrome, right! "Throw a frog into boiling water, and he'll jump out. But if you place the frog into a pot of lukewarm water and slowly turn up the heat, the frog will boil to death." And so it is with us the 99%. Our goose is cooked.

After 30 years of Reaganomics, NAFTA, and deregulated policies by the gangsters, we elected to government. The revolution that we have talked ad nauseam about since the 60s ended when George W. Bush and tricky Dick Cheney tanked the economy. To put a finer point on it, as George W. walked out the door to hand the keys of the Whitehouse over to Barack Obama. He gave us — the 99 % — the middle finger, when he and his cronies conned the American people out of even more money. To the tune of 750-billion dollars, after misplacing — according to the then-Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld — 2.3 trillion dollars that the Bush administration could not account for the day before 9/11 — conveniently distracting the public's view of the investigation, to Terrorism, changing the narrative altogether.

The ultra-rich actually pulled the revolution off under the guise of Capitalism, Terrorism, prestidigitation (SLIGHT OF HAND), and free trade agreements, and people are still trying to figure out what the fuck happen to their money, their jobs, their homes, and their freedoms. Our jobs were outsourced, cheap labor insourced. Our mortgages quadrupled in price, while our property value deflated, and our money was just flat-out stolen, by corporate robber barons, our political leaders, and the gangsters industry. I mean the banksters industry, oops. I did it again. I mean the banking industry, while our freedoms CONTINUE TO ERODE to nothing! Welcome to the revolution of, A GLOBAL PLANTATION OF SLAVERY, by the top 1%, and their political lackeys, our so-called politician. We elected to office. Who, by hook and crook, legislate us into a global slavery? I'm afraid the joke is on us, the 99%, unless _______________________________________ well, you fill in the blank.

Thank you Elaby, coming from you, I take that as a real compliment. I 'm honored. I see you have posted a lot more material, since I visited the site last. You have a very creative mind. How do you come up with all those fanciful stories in such a short amount of time is beyond me? One thing I do know is that you are definitely a writer. Keep up the good work. Do write any scripts for movies?

Thank you so much, J! Yes, I actually have written one script, the first act of which I have posted in the scripts forum . . . it was actually the result of Script Frenzy '11 done by NaNoWriMo. I finished on time but I fear it is extremely rough around the edges.

One of my goals is to become a screenplay writer for Hollywood - which seems to be losing ideas for new stories very quickly. Notice how everything is a second, third, or fourth of previous films?

J,

A great piece of literature that sums up a lot of the issues that US has had over the past few years. Well presented and delivered and a great read. No waffling; just concise thought.

Good job.
