Butterfly

Colourful butterfly perched on my hand,
such a prerogative to understand.
Such a preposterous way to survive and,
yet such a blessing that you are alive...

HER REPLY....

Colourless mortal supporting my wing,
much contribution to such suffering.
Such an admission of guilt in your eyes yet,
so hard a task to condemn butterflies???

I agree with the butterfly even if she's a 'colourless' Cabbage White. I guess humans are generally 'colourless' / unlovely in comparison to such wonderful creatures / and cause suffering which butterflies do not. Well, who knows whether they do or not? Maybe there is some butterfly out there with a grievance or mal-intent!

A beautiful poem well written.

Using multiple question marks at the end of a sentence is often considered improper (i.e. "What???"). If the need for urgency or illustration of higher confusion is needed, an exclamation point and a question mark should be used ("What!?")

I stand to be corrected if that doesn't apply in poetry

Loved it!

It really resonated with me, as my novel "Quiet Voice" is all about a girl and a butterfly (the butterfly is the voice of her soul).

Thanks for the inspiration!
