hmmm I see what you mean - the last line of each verse does feel like its cut short though - like the lyrics.

Yes, it's a strange way of doing it. A couple of weeks back we were doing Anglo Saxon poetry. I won't be posting any of that!

Oh, I heard something on the radio about Oceanic poetry. I hadn't come across it before, but it's all about what it says, Oceans. I thought I'd try and do a bit of both in the one poem.

Can I just say you are a minefield of information - I love your command over the English language and that when you're not sure of something you seem to scuttle off and look it up! I can imagine your room filled with luxurious leather bound volumes.

Really good poem. I managed to get past the short final lines when I realized that was the format.
Good job.

This is a really interesting format, and the subject you put to it seems to fit perfectly. I really enjoyed it.
Delightful! ;)

I'm pleased it is going down well.
Poppy, I wish I was a minefield of information. Research does give knowledge. It's the retaining of it that's my problem. I loved English lessons at school back in the early sixties. Things have changed since then and I have forgotten an awful lot. Yes, I do have quite a few books on writing. Several dictionaries, three thesauruses, three volumes of the Oxford library of English usage etc. etc. But no matter how many books a person has, none of them can teach you to use your imagination. Without that, you're stuffed.

Did you ever go fishing out at sea? My partner use to own a small fishing boat many years ago and he would trawl out in the deep blue. Your poem gave me an insight into the deep blue so much so that I had a clear pictue in my mind thankyou.

Hi Debbie. I'm really pleased you liked the poem. I used to love sea-fishing, although I never owned a boat. I sometimes joined with a group of friends to charter a boat but unfortunately, never caught what could be considered a 'big' fish. I love the sea and wish we could live by a rugged coast, away from holiday-makers. Lack of funds and family ties make it impossible.
