Thought I'd try something different - this sketch is set in a warehouse.

John: Friends we are all here for the same reason.

Audience: Yes, yeah, come on!

John: Because it's time to take action.

Rosie: Ooooh it's time Agnus did you hear? (she peers at her watch.)

John: We've waited too long for this government to deliver it's promises

Rosie: Oh Agnus I've waited so long.

John: So I ask you, nay I beseech you, think of your friends and family, think of
your neighbours, think of the person sitting next to you.

Rosie: Mmmmmm (looking sneakily at the nice young man to her left.)

John: And help us bring truth and justice back.

Rosie: (whispering to Agnus) do I know them?

John: So go home and get ready - prepare yourselves for the forthcoming battle
guard against imposters, stand by your doors and do not rest until you get
         my call.

Audience: (erupts into loud cheers) Yeah - woooo - come on!

The noise swells and dies as the people file out of the warehouse leaving Rosie and Agnus alone.

Agnus: Shall we go and get a nice cup of tea dear?

Rosie: Might as well - silly bugger doesnt he realise some of us aren't on the
          phone.

Took a couple of reads. Like the idea that Agnus and Rosie are not very bright and are quite innocently misinterpreting what's being said.Is that right ? I think with a bit of work you could take this further and make it funnier. Great start though, and a good idea.

Yeah.. um.. not my finest hour! Still that's why I only went for a snippet of an idea - that being a kind of play on words - I guess they have come across a bit dim I wanted the character to take everything literally - we have children in our school who when you ask them to read out their work in front of the school you find them 10 mins later in the car park reading to the front of the building but they're not necessarily dim just different. Anyway I'll put more thought in next time.

Thank you for making me laugh, this play you should be proud of achieving what you have no matter how little it seems.

I'm an avid reader who gets lost in the world of books. My poetry tends to be a stream of consciousness running along the pulse of emotion. I'd like to try new things but as always its finding the time ... (Read more)
