Seaside Pride By Gary Jarvis A sandy beach on a warm summers day Thoughtlessly tainted by waste Empty cans, bottles and polystyrene cartons Why would you throw your rubbish on the ground? A walk down the main strip Gift shops, restaurants and bars all hosting tattered shop fronts The concrete underfoot covered with dried chewing gum Why would you not make an effort? Step in a shop and pick up some items Excited to post them home Go to pay and hear them say the extortionate prices they want Why would you not want to impress? Arrive back at your place to stay Find the bed's not made Want to complain but not sure what to say Where is your seaside pride?
