COFFEE

Something that I think Grandpa Pogi said about the use of words made me try the below.

TASK -

To write a small piece about making a cup of coffee using as many descriptive words as possible.

-----------------------

The ground stretched to the distance like a desert would to a thirsty man.
Standing silently and alone, the ceramic white receptacle thrust itself skyward like a gargantuan megalithic structure, stirring feelings of excitement and joy to all who beheld it.
Its hollow interior stood patiently, tempestuous feelings growing as it anticipated the deluge that would follow.
Seconds evolved into minutes as it sojourned, intrepidation pullulating up inside its ceramic carapace.
Eventually its reverie corporealized, the water cascaded down onto its pristine substratum, bespattering up the sides like a tidal wave against a mountain.
The nebulous water pervading ascensionally concluded as suddenly as it had initiated.
A small haze rises from its infrigidating surface as it sends heat tendrils upwards, like seaweeds on the seabed as a shark disturbs the currents as it searches for food, but no creatures live below this water.
There is no life below to stir its sub aqueous depths.
An imbricating wave laps gently from the sides making the water undulate agilely as it passes.
A Boulder crashed lazily into its smooth veneer, vanishing below it dissolved into particles as a meteorite would while entering the atmosphere, leaving a trail of aithochrous debris as it descended into the depths below.
More mimicked the prior, fracturing the surface as they collided, fragmenting off before tumbling languorously into the depths.
Its surface lacerated as a shining metal spoon descends into its murky depths, leisurely turning the mellifluous liquid as it displaced and gyrated the fluid at it passed.
At its crescendo it retracted as the visquous fluids endures its peregrination.
Its heat diminishes as hyperborean milk interweaves itself into the concoction as it levitates the surface closer to the pinnacle of the alembic container.
With apprehension it detects motion as it rises majestically from the landscape below.

Wish I had made a tea now.

Now my brain hurts, Festerocious :-)
I'd be able to pick up a few new ones here, but I have to consult my friend 'Dict' for some enlightenment.
I'll have some tea, please.

I believe this is a good example of how bad it can get if descriptives are overused. It gave me such a headache! Yes, we will be better off having tea instead.

:)

It made my head hurt when I did it.
Reading it aloud is really hard, though I did learn a number of very useful words in the process.

I used to interview people at my last job by making them describe simple things (Technical Support Call Centre).
So I thought the simple task of coffee making would be a good example

Enjoyed the work to create it, sorry if caused a headache as you tried to read it though :D

I loved it. I haven't laughed so much for weeks.

The prose is so purple it's heading into the ultraviolet. It's full of jawbreaking words I'd never heard of and wouldn't have the nerve to use if I did...

It would make a great 'art' film with voice over and high qualityclose ups of the coffee being made and dramatic sound effects! Ha ha great!

Thanks Mature gent for the feedback.

This was something I did out of fun a while back.
Trying to get as many new words into a simple task wasn't easy.
