Ode To The Shamed By Gary Jarvis Standing on the street corner Freezing cold and lonely Dreams of a better life enter the mind A car drives by twice then stops. Going through the rigmarole Going through the motions Words heard time and time again "I've never done this before". I don't care if you lie to me You can't lie you to yourself "Your place or mine?" I ask "Yours" Is your short reply. "I have done my deed, now you must do yours" "Leave the money by the bed, and leave by yourself" He goes, I cry every time the same, only my pillow knows my tears Can you feel my shame?
I feel the emotion the poet is trying to convey in this poem... Good work! ^_^
