Dirty heart

My pen floods life upon this bleeding heart,
A wreckage laid like bloody soldiers,
past angers and tears dug up from the dirt,
with every rapid word I write.

The store of memories somehow,
but bitter things stir first and foremost,
and overcast growing poppies,
in the beaten, bleeding ground.

It's a concept that we can all relate to. Good job!

Maybe it's just me and I hate to second guess, but I don't quite get the "somehow" in "The store of memories somehow". Would "deep" or "below" be better choices? I don't know.

This reminds me of Digging by Seamus Heaney. He describes his pen as a tool for digging up the past. Worth a read if you haven't yet.
Good work.
