Some of the sites I've found useful

Just a quick round up of some of the resources that make up my 'writing kit'

www.writing.com is a busy, heavily populated site where you can post alll kinds of writing for critique, but don't go there if you're shy of negative feedback, some of the users there can be a bit brutal (not like here) On the upside, it has a lot of competitions and inspiration.

www.triond.com is one of the many article writing sites, good if you're more into non-fiction and want to earn a few pennies for your efforts. But be warned, it is a few pennies, unless you want to spend more time promoting than writing. The forums there are completely unmoderated and get easily sucked off topic and often degenerate into slanging matches.

www.zero2novel.com is a writing course useful if you want a little help with structuring, planning and getting a novel written. Lonnie, who runs the site is a published author, and quite good at answering emails if you've bought the program, just don't inundate him with stuff that could be answered though the forums. Having siad that, the forums there are sparsely polulated, but a good place to strike up a few useful friendships.

I tend to concentrate on triond for non fiction, writing.com for short fiction and zero2novel for help working on the novel, using the mynovel software for the writing. Hope they are of use to some of you.
