Dear Nicola

Afer reading Nshereej's "Where's my man?", I felt I should post this poem I wrote a short while ago for a lady friend who lost her job and her boyfriend both within a week. Her name is Nicola...

Dear Nicola

Tall and slim, with the gait of a model
those lovely eyes belong to an angel
friendly introvert, pessimistic yet ambitious
a beautiful Capricorn who's unpretentious.

Life is never meant to be dull, dear Nicola
look as you might, but there's no fixed formula
like a yo-yo, it goes up and down, up and down
so greet each day with a smile and not a frown!

Cry if you must - then laugh right after
for you'll find true love sooner or later
pretty girl like you is not meant to be a loner
your Prince might be right around the corner!

Enjoy each moment with your heart wide-open
celebrate your successes and lessons well-taken.
look to the bright side and bear no sorrow
do your best and there'll be a better tomorrow!

sense and sensation
it's so much easier to understand from logic and as outsider
job can be found again, so can a boyfriend
what messes up is those time inbetween

A dear trusted friend, really 'open' poetry.

. . . 'do your best and there'll be a better tomorrow!'

Great advice Bob, and it would apply to each and every one of us too. One thing I noticed, your writing has been getting better all the time. Prose or poetry, you've done great.

I wanted to share my life experience through storytelling, to write with feelings that are palpable and appreciated by the readers, and to have fun doing it.
