Confusion all round Now!

hey all writers,
i'm writing a short story and was just wondering how would you go about writing an action scene. i mean if you see in the movies there's like a ton of things going on at the same time. i know how i want my scene to be like, i mean i already got that in my mind but how do i write about it. because if i start to concentrate on one character then what about the others.
another question, i was searching on the internet and this thing pops out of nowhere. after reading it i realize its a publishing agent's ad. so i was thinking what is the point of having someone do the same thing you could do. i know i haven't been published or anything but you could send in your manuscript and if they like it then they'll publish it or just reject it. why pay someone to that for you. that's just a waste of money, or is it?
is there something an agent does that the author can't do, i don't know like threaten the publishers or something. lol
maybe there is a reason but i can' seem to find one to be honest.

p.s. i seem to be more confused more often. i think i have a problem. lol.

First question, write your scene how you see it in your mind. Then return to the beginning to add the flesh. Can't you put it up here so we can see it and possibly help more?

Second question, do you mean an agent had offered to edit your novel?
Some agencies out there will offer a reading fee; basically that's a review of your novel NOT because it's good and they want it, they just want your money.

If any agency asks for money, walk away.

hi
thanks a ton for replying. i have got the main points for the scene now and i've written most of it. hopefully its going to get better but i was getting some inspiration from the scenes from harry potter and other books as well. just to see how the authors wrote their scenes. can't write as good as those authors but i can try. i'll put the finished story on the site for you to see.
and no i didn't get contacted by an agent but how cool would that be. i was just wondering whether there's really is a point in having an agent. are the publishing house going to trust the agents more then the actual author?
