Does anyone know of any useful books, magazines, or sites that offer good advice about writing, or writing exercises?

Oh, don't get me started. There's millions. Umm... general writing, or getting published? 'Cause there's
a lot out there. Here, I'll list the biggies:
Writer's Circle ;)
Writer's Digest (They have a list of 100 other sources)
NaNoWriMo site

Some others...

querytracker forums
critique circle
critters
Various blogs, like Nathan Bradsford's. Just click the next blog button at the top of any blog on blogger
and 9 times out of ten you'll come up with something book related.... or so I've found. Good luck!

I'd advise to have delivered a writers' magazine. It offers monthly advice, competitions etc and you also
get to feel part of a community.
