This is my version:

I fill you to the brim
and put your powder in;
I turn your dials
and wait and wait.
"I'm late!" I hear
the washer shout:
"Pull your washing out!"
Then it's the dryer's turn
to belch and shout
and shout and shout!

Now it's too late
for me to go out!
