Alfie the Alien - idea for a young child's picture book

Alone on his planet, far, far away,
Poor Alfie was lonely every day.
For his home was as empty as it could be,
No flowers, no animals, not even a tree.

He wanted a friend for all he was worth,
So he headed through space to a planet called Earth.
He circled around for a couple of hours.
Landed in a field covered with flowers.

He wanted a friend but he didn't know how!
He decided to talk to a black and white cow.
"Greetings" said Alfie. "I come from above.
Where can I find this thing you call love?"
The cow turned around and simply said "moo".
He went back to his spaceship and away Alfie flew.

Flying around he spotted a house,
Flew down from the chimney and spoke to a mouse.
"Greetings" said Alfie. "I come from above.
Where can I find this thing you call love?"
The mouse turned away and ran off down the lane.
Poor, forlorn Alfie was alone yet again.

The day went on, but still no friend.
Alfie wanted the sadness to end.
He wouldn't give up, not without a fight,
So Alfie searched on well into the night.

He spotted soft light coming out of a room,
So flew his craft in with a great big loud zoom.
Alone in her cot sat a tiny, sweet baby,
Who cuddled up close with her fluffy old teddy.
"Greetings" said Alfie "I come from above,
Where can I find this thing you call love?"

The baby gurgled and started to smile,
So Alfie stopped and stared for a while.
Suddenly he knew just what he should do,
And out of the room a happy Alfie flew.
Back on his planet, content as could be,
Alfie snuggled up with his three eyed teddy!

Yes I like it too. The only thing I might change are the lines where you have 'where can I find this thing you call love?' because I thought he was searching for friendship. Very nice though and I can envision it as a picture book and I can envision children loving it.
