When the dreams that kept you warm
trickle away through tightened grasp,
when memories hold nothing more
than twisted anticipation of this day,
when a gentle breeze you cannot stop
takes it all away like fairy dust

Where do you go?

Does it still exist
if the desire throbs inside my mind
but the journey strips me of emotion?
Will I regain control of my spirit
if they carve me in the image of themselves?
If this is how it has to be
am I ok with it?

I've wanted it for so long
Where else is there to go?
