Seems like raindrops fall on a barren earth below
To those seeking shelter with no place to go
Emptiness comes so easily to these
Ignored by many, as if carrying a disease

Have we forgotten what it means to truly care?
Opening our hearts to others, we've got plenty to share
So hard to give, so easy to look away
God help us all if we can't stop long enough to pray

Life is about giving, honoring, and love
As we've been provided all we need from heaven above
Can't we just spare a moment of our time
to listen to our sister or brother? It won't cost a dime

Next time you're in a hurry and seemingly can't wait
Take time to talk to someone, spiritually fill their plate
You've so much to offer, so go the extra mile
Reach out to your neighbor, there's love in your smile
