...... a   d a y
               i n   t h e   l i f e
                    o f   a   s t o n e

Today must be Monday ---
           another day
                       in the life of a stone
Was there a party
     yesterday?
             I don't seem to have known
I have been sitting here
     in a spell
            watching
                      throughout
                             the dark morning
I have been waiting
       for a while.....
                expecting...
                          the sun
                                    finally coming!
I have been nestled here
    for a long  l o n g  t i m e
          built in the crest of this grassy green hill
                 under the arms of my buddy
                         the great grand old oak tree
                                 ---might have been forever---
                                           in all kinds of moons and weather

I hear the hustle bustle
        the hurry scurry
                 of humanity
                         somehow growing
                                       l o u d e r   L O U D E R  ......
I don't have to pay any mind---
    I don't have to go anywhere
           somewhere
                   for whatever
                           reasons are there
I don't have to go to school ---
    I always wonder how
                        it feels
                   to ride inside
                           that yellow bus
I don't have to go to work ---
     I always wonder why
                         is it that
                   people must
                            why people must......?
I can sit here all day waiting
     to watch the children play
             when they come home from school
                     at the beginning
                             of the end of the day

It is another day
    in the life of a stone
Yet I have been
    eyewitness
             to 'important' history ---
                   I always wonder why
                            nobody asks me......

The sun will make its flight
      I will keep watch
              throughout
                    the dark night
                           the end of
                                   a day
                                         in the life
                                              of a stone.

                                                           Tomorrow is another
day.....
