My Dear Valentine

My dear, dear Valentine!
You're always on my mind
on this special day of the year
and everyday under gray sky or clear!

The rays of each sunrise
bring the twinkles in your glittering eyes.
Each evening as the light fades:
your hand strokes softly on my face.

I hear your laughter when the birds sing;
I heed your heartbeat as it starts to rain;
I smell your hair in the summer breeze;
I feel your warmth in the winter freeze!

My dear, dear Valentine!
Few things stand the test of time,
and for sure life offers no guarantee,
but you'll always mean the world to me!

wrote with deep feeling and knowledge of love and words.
Your right, we have no gaurantee who we will share our life with. Its a poem of true Valentine meaning.

Thanks, Mature Agent and Wolfy. I wrote this for a lady (her name is Kitty) for Valentine's Day 2008 and we were married on Christmas Eve the same year. So I suppose she liked this piece too ...

This is the song in your heart, bobchoi
with the third stanza for a refrain playing
while you recite and pour your love in this poem

Love it!

A nicely worded poem that unlike a good many other Valentine-themed poems does not over-sentimentalise (I think this is a word) the person or thing that forms the reason for why their writing.

Throughout, it keeps apace with the upbeat sentiments it contains, which again I think commends it.

As such, I am looking forward to reading and digesting more of your writing!

By the way, dear Circle of Friends, this year, Valentine's Day (this Sunday) falls on the first day of the Chinese Lunar Year... the Year of the Tiger. We don't need to be a fengshui expert to know what that means... it means love will rule like a tiger this year. So don't miss out, take the plunge, fall in love... you have waited long enough!
