The Simplest Spice Of Life

we are all conditioned to think along certain lines
one thing that's drummed into us is all about progress
we all like to feel powerful, to taste success with gusto
we envisage ourselves to be at least resilient if not mighty
we think we want money, we think we want security
we think we want love, we think we want passion
but all we really want is simply understanding.

what's the use of having love if we are always misunderstood
what's the use of having money if we can't buy happiness
what's the use of having passion if our love doesn't believe in us
what's the use of having security if we feel alone and empty
when the most precious thing we could ever have is understanding.

love is beautiful if most of the time we're understood
money is a bonus if love with understanding is in the air
passion is awesome if our loved one believes in us
security is quite good if we're happy and fulfilled
but all these without understanding equates to nothing
for love, money, passion and security can't give us peace
they can't complete our lives without the simplest spice of life
without the most precious thing in life... UNDERSTANDING.

is what we need most in life.
