This is goodbye...

 This Is Goodbye

there's no such thing as a perfect relationship
for love like life is like a roller coaster
that makes us always wonder
about its role in our fragile world.

i thought i knew what would happen next
i never expected i'd be steeling myself hard
for my love is gone and i have to be callous
to preserve my sanity and my dignity.

somehow i thought i was going to pass this hurdle
but my love meant so much to me
and there was no perfect way to proceed
for i would always be true to my heart.

i thought everything would turn out right in the end
regardless of how convoluted things seemed to be
but my love abandoned me during my darkest moments
and i was left with just the memories of our dreams.

and now that i'm alone, i could only think of other options
in the absence of a best convincing choice
something that i can honour most
something that has more merits than the rest
something that will keep me going through this crucial moment
and this great deal of pressure to succumb to the demands of mammon
i still can not go easy to compromise my values and my emotions
i have to put everything in proper perspectives
and to see to it that all is but equable.

the love that i've known since the beginning of time is gone
and now i need a little love and support to keep me going
don't we all need a little love and support?
that we sometimes dress up these needs in complicated disguises
and create a set of preconditions about what we will or will not accept
only to become unfulfilled in the end.

sometimes we hold tightly to an overly specific idea
about what we must and we must not have
what we do and we do not want to happen
who can and who cannot be there for us
until we find that the most important part of the equation is gone
and for me, it is my love.

there is no sure-fire way now to right a wrong
the savage storm and gusty winds have created havoc
though they may have forever scarred me i still have to go on
even when i feel that my body is aching
and my soul is crying for the only one love that i've known
i have to be strong to fight to the end.

my heart is yearning for my one true love
will i ever pass this misery without losing myself?
will i ever see him again? will he remember my name?
my sweetest love, my sweet romance
my sweet passion, my sweet torment
the love that i will always cherish in my heart.

and if our path would never cross again
i wish to remain in his sweet memories
not as the wild and wicked woman as he perceived me to be
but as somebody imbued with determination, dignity, and integrity.
i wish for the imminent magic to touch his life, to pull him through
and most of all, i wish him love.

Goodbye.

Oh it's sad to say goodbye. I hope it was "hello" rather than "goodbye".

P.S. I hope you can see my comment as my peace offering? =) I really like your works.

If you find beautiful love once in your lifetime, you're lucky. Your love is beautiful. Don't say goodbye.

Hi Possum,

I recall you said, "it doesn't matter to you...". Honestly i am curious if you are white or black. I have affinity with blacks although I am also friendly with whites.

I try to understand how you can achieve such authenticity in your poetry
You are a lover, possum
There's a poet in all of us
but a lover who loves forever is a poet
You're one with the experience
And you speak from the heart
You write about reality
You're real . . .

You're right, mnmnI. I'm real and I speak from the heart. There's nothing half-baked when I speak about love. And yes, love for me is forever. Thanks.

Possum,
I am really touch with those words (yearning, torment, misery, sweet passion ) all of those can only be conquered by one word >> "LOVE".
I can feel your only one love is just around the corner (of the globe).
Keep on writing Miss Lovable.

Hello Avi,

"Veni, vidi, vici" written by Julius Caesar - That's exactly what I did but I reckon I've got to do it all over again to complete the cycle. And hopefully it will be forever the next time around. Can you hear the wedding bells?

Thanks.

an all consuming passionate piece. Why do we fall so deeply in it..., if this is what love can do?
It is a wonderful feeling i guess.
An exciting read. Well done

Possum,

Love is what makes the world go 'round.
Like a big wheel.
Sometimes, you're on top,
Other times, you're at the bottom.
Sometimes, you're happy,
Other times, you're sad.
And if you're good looking, it's hard to be humble.
I think the last phrase doesn't fit.
Have to revise.
Oh yes, smile and the world smiles with you.
Cry, and you'll just wet your shirt.

Great poem.

Writing is a passion, ChrissieJo, and for the writer to be effective, she must be able to make the readers feel the emotions in her poem. Thanks for your compliment.

You're right, Anonymous, true love never dies. Will it find its way? Let's just wait for the next chapter.

Hello Grampa,

my belief is...
there's always a brighter morn
after the tempest is gone.

so, i'll just live
each and every moment
the best that i could.

how's that for a change?

Thanks.
