All the poets muttering
about the haiku that's come in
from Grampa with his uttering
about the poison wedding ring.
Hi Grampa, Thanks for the review of Howling Banjos. Keep your eye on Spotty. Banjos are the thin end of the wedge. There is a rumour going around that it may be piano accordions next.

Your poetry *rings* the truth Churchmouse.
And your Howling Banjos is a howling success. I'll keep an eye on Spotty. Our neighbour had been missing a piano . . . hmmm [index and thumb on chin stroke].

LOL!
I keep on laughing at the last *ring..Well, not all relationships end that way. I am bound to believe in happy ever afters...But this haiku is one-of-a-kind! The way you write it is simply beautiful. The sequence of events seemed realistic. At first, I thought it might be an idealist's view. But then, it proved to be the other way around...
LOL!

Grampa,
This is true and happening to every relationship, but some in the end they found their happiness with their own "OffspRing".
This is good and I had a good laugh.

Hi Shakespril,
SpRing is in the air, and it will bRing in joy like your happy endings. After march would be April Mae and then Shakespril will ring in her birthday. :-)
Yes of course some relationships end up like a fairy tale, some end up a fair tale, while others, a fairly sordid tale. :-)
Thanks.

Hi Lomliyavi,
Yes, an offspRing would spRing forth greater joy as well :-)
Thanks.

Let me rearrange this haiku and add a line or two.
First, the Ups and Downs
Ergo, the Suffering
Next, the Engagement Ring
Then came the Wedding Ring
Finally, Bliss as One.
This is coming from an optimist like me.

Oh nooooo, Possum,
it's no longer a Haiku . . . more like a HighFive :-)
But I like your idea better :-)
Especially the *Bliss as one* (grin).
A couple got married and the inexperienced woman says to hubby,
"dear, you have to teach me as I don't know much about sex."
"it's easy, honey, I'd be on top and you be at the bottom."
She went out and bought a bunk bed.

Okay, Grampa, I'll make it into a haiku again. . .
First, Engagement Ring
Then after the Wedding Ring
Eternity ring.
or
First, Engagement Ring
Next would be the Wedding Ring
Then came Divorcing.
Third line is the reader's choice, right?

Hi Possum,
Your first has a ring of optimism while the second, the ring of pessimism. Much like half-full and half-empty. Which reminds me of that saying, "no matter where you go, there you are!" :-)

I actually prefer the first one for I believe in forever. The second one is for someone who easily gives up and not even try to tackle the hurdle.
