The Magical Shoes Part 7

"Alright Melanie," said Dumblydore later that day. I had finished talking to Mar (that's what she told me to call her) and didn't know what I'd be doing next. "We will need to show you to your room. Now, remember me telling you that you would be sleeping at home?"

"Yes," I answered simply.

"That really isn't true. I just didn't want you to back away from joining us here at Frogwarts. I know, it was awful of me to lie that way. You will however be going home on weekends." he told me.

That sounded fine to me. I had been on a month long canoe trip before with a camp. I thought I'd survive in a magical bedroom for just 4 or 5 nights in a row! "Alright" was all that I said.

Dumblydore smiled. "Now, would you like to see your room or not?"

"Yes I would."

Dumblydore lead me down several halls. As we walked, he started telling me about my room.

"The person you will be staying with is named Madison Wright. She is also in the 7th grade. With magic, however, you are a first grader." he said. Great. I am the equivilant of a 6 year old, I thought to myself. Oh well, you need to start somewhere.

As we neared the room I'd be staying in, Dumblydore continued
to speak. "You will not need a key to your room. That is too unsafe. Any person could use a spell to steal it! We have a security system here. You will need to be scanned so that you will always be able to open the door. It automatically locks all the time, but thanks to the scanning method, you'll never even notice!"

I was interested in seeing this security system scanner. Finally, we got to my room.

"Stand still." Dumblydore orders. So I stand sill. As if he was drawing in the air, starting at my head and ending at my feet, Dumblydore pulled his wand downwards. It lit up and sparkled as he did this. Then, he stuck the wand into the keyhole of the door.

"Alright, I am finished the scan!" he announced.

"Wow, that was quick." I told him.

"I'll leave you to meet Madison. In about 30 minutes I will get you. You are going to need your supplies for classes!"

"Sounds good." I agreed, and walked into the room.

There was a big stone fire place and a  chandelier hanging from the ceiling. There were two queen sized four-post beds when I walked in aswell. It was a nice and cozy room. That is, until I met Madison Wright.
