Deserted...

Deserted

Five Strangers. One island. A monster older than time itself. What could go wrong? Rosie, Alex, Josh, Lucy and Jake have all been picked for a reality TV show, and they have to stay on a deserted island for six weeks, with only two camera men and a first aid expert for company. Don't forget the monster.

"Welcome to the fifth series of Stranded!" yelled the presenter, bouncing around, full of energy. The five contestants sat nervously in the boat, ready to go. Rosie broke the tension by introducing herself,
"Hi, I'm Rosie. So what are your names?"
"I'm Alexandra, call me Alex though,"
"I'm Josh,"
"Lucy, be warned I'm a little bit of a wimp,"
"Jake,"
All five of them looked completely different. Rosie had short black hair, with a side fringe, a loose black top, and dark jeans. Alex had long, curly, blonde hair, tight pink top and denim shorts. Josh had brown, spiky hair, a blue hoodie and matching trousers. Lucy had long, straight, blonde hair, with a pink blouse and a pink skirt. Jake had ginger hair, a black shirt, and black jeans.

The TV presenter came over and shook everyones hand,
"I'm Larry, I'll be traveling along with you and staying for one night and coming back every Friday, to announce who is out for that week, best of luck to you all," he said in a low voice. He then turned back to the camera and explained how everything would work,
"Rosie, Alex, Josh, Lucy and Jake are all staying on this island for six weeks, with no one but each other and our camera men and first aid expert for company, but there may be another resident, Softie, the island's monster, who should come out every night to either eat or at least harm one person. There has been evidence found that the monster exists but any time someone gets him on camera, that person and camera are never seen again. Okay, contestants, are we ready?" Everyone nodded. The boat started and each contestant looked at their family, wondering if they would see the people that they loved so much ever again. One by one they each looked at the island. Home for a few weeks. Great.

It was warm on the island, not too warm, not too cold. Perfect holiday destination. There was a large hut with windows and heaters, probably the camera men, first aid expert and Larry's home. Around thirty meters away there were two huts, quite small, but not tiny, probably one for the girls and one for the boys. Lucy started to talk, a panicky tone accompanying her soft voice,
"I hope there aren't snakes, I hate snakes!" Josh grinned at Jake then said,
"Lucy, I'll protect you from the big mean snakes," he winked at her. She looked away from him to hide the blush that she could feel appearing on her cheeks. Rosie looked at Lucy, how could Josh like her? She was such a baby, and Josh was so... amazing.

After twenty minuets in silence on the boat, they finally arrived on the island. Kerry, the first aid expert directed them to the toilet block behind the huts, and told them which hut was the girls and which was the boys. Larry told everyone,
"Meet here in thirty minuets, we go live and I explain the rules," Lucy went skipping off, without a care in the world, she was heading towards the girls hut when Rosie stopped her,
"Keep away from Josh, I've had my eye on him, and by the end of the six weeks we have to spend here, we will be in love," Lucy nodded, not wanting to make Rosie dislike her any more than she already did. Alex saw the disagreement, and decided to use it to her advantage.

Josh was trying really hard to make a good conversation with Jake, but found it difficult because Jake seemed to want to sit, nod and smile, but not talk. Josh tried asking him lots of questions but Jake just sat and shrugged. After five minuets, Josh gave up and went in search of the girls.

Alex was the first person he saw,
"Alex, come over here, I want to ask you something!" he yelled. Alex came over tossing her blonde hair over her shoulders,
"Which one should I ask out, Lucy or Rosie? They are both hot,"
"None of them," She replied, "How about me?"

It's not quite done yet, I have plenty to add, I just need some feedback. :)

Hi strawberryJAM. nice idea, and will appeal to the teengirl age group. Your writing is becoming more fluent now which is a good thing. one suggestion, Try deleting the paragraph starting with: All five of them looked. because by giving all the descriptions in one go the reader will either try to memorise them in which case they are not reading the story, or will skip over the descriptions because they know that they will not be able to retain the information. It may be better to introduce each character's description when that character appears in the storyline thereby making it easier for the reader.
Anyway good stuff.
