Lost And Yet

sometimes life stretches through a rough road 
and there are humps and bumps along the way
and we tackle these hurdles as they come.

sometimes we lose sight of what's really important
for we hanker for an option we're not free to explore
or the theory that's adversely different from reality.

sometimes butterflies pulsate our hearts with joy
and we forget that something's proving so elusive
it's just an arm-stretch away and yet nowhere.

sometimes we scrutinize the conventional wisdom
and stay focused only on things that inspire us
though we might not be aligned with the tracks.

sometimes i feel i'm lost in the wilderness 
and yet, i know love . . .
