Hi Grampa, I like this story idea, and it is something that would appeal to me if I saw it on the bookshelf, or read it on a book cover. Re the synopsis, are the second and third paragraphs the wrong way round chronologically. I had to read it twice before I understood the sequence of the story. Presumably, Gus's secret is uncovered by the operatives that he has hired. Not sure if you should use the words unforgettable cast of characters. Maybe "with the unforgettable Ron Bello and a richly painted cast of characters" would sound better.
Anyway, I like the story line. It makes sense, and is believable enough to hold the interest. Good luck with it.

Thank you so much Churchmouse, a very astute observation. You are right about the chronological event . . . it's now revised with your input. :-)

HI,
Congratulations on finishing a second novel. They say the 2nd is a difficult one to write (not having written a first yet, I do not know why!). I read this twice and was more intrigued the 2nd time, it 'sparked' with me, gave me a sense of colourful and brutal characters to come and a v interesting main character in the 'Jeneral'. I would certainly want to read on based on this synopsis.
Fab!
Kudos Grampa Pogi.

Thank you so much Keiron. I heard that too, that the second is harder but I guess it's because the first one would usually be the baby, that all the juice had gone forth to make it work and for the subsequent book, it would be harder to come up with a new plot.
Writing the synopsis is equally challenging. Synopses would usually appear on the covers or the flaps and more people in retail shelves would make their decisions based on the spark they'd feel when shopping for a new book; if the summary sucks, the book goes back to collect more dust.
Again, my thanks for your comment. It would surely help when making the final *script* on the synopsis.

Congratulations on fininshing your novel, must be very satisfying. I liked the synopsis, sounds like a book with a lot going on. It would definitely appeal to me. I like the way you have brought the main characters in whilst giving good overview of the story line - leaving enough intrique.

It looks great to me. Just enough information and suspense to grab the reader and make them want to know what happens. Here are some good links for stuff like this:

Best of luck!

Thanks Wombat for your feeedback, much appreciated. It is quite satisfying moving up into the next step and hope to get it published. I always dread to write the overview . . . and from the comments I received so far, it looks like there's enough to spark some interest. :-)

Hi Grampa
I love the sound of your novel, as some of the others have commented the synopsis lets me know what kind of book i'm getting but there is enough intrigue and questions posed to want me to read on. I think the changes you made make it read better and make more sense. Good luck with the editing!

Thanks Elaineh, it's a long haul on the editing part, but it's quite rewarding to do the polishing after several months of nothing but wracking my brains (assuming I still have some left, ha ha ha :-). There are still plenty to take out (especially those that garnered some comments from the circle) and possibly some to add in and hopefully, I could make justice to the current plot.
I haven't been quite alert with what's going on in the circle . . . I have a lot of catching up to do . . .
Good luck to you as well and to the rest of our circle family.
:-)
