The Eighth And Ninth

we found love
on the eighth and ninth
a love so deep, so pure
to stand beyond time.

we found each other again
on the eighth and ninth
the past touched us
and made us forever one.

we bound our souls
on the eighth and ninth
though we are miles apart
we're sure we are one.

my heart is yours
your heart is mine
and our love makes all days
the eighth and ninth.

possum, I am so touched by your poem. I could feel the love as well as the pain.

A heartwarming poem that bears multiple readings. (I can imagine, depending on my mood, for example if feeling a bit melancholy, how I would read more into the separation and 'we are miles apart' aspect to this poem, in just the way I read it today as celebratory). Anyway... there is real joy to be had in simply rehearing, whether out loud or else echoing at the back of the mind, those few words you use repeatedly, echoingly, and hauntingly, the 'eighth and ninth'. The idea that these two days are equal to 'all days', is also very well done too I think.
Really enjoyed this. Nice one.

The eighth and ninth must be something special like an event to remember; or a special moment with a special person,
And you've expressed that in this poem with poignant simplicity.

Thanks for your comment, libran88. Love is beautiful though your miles away from your loved one. Just have faith that all the waiting will end and the time will come when you'll be together as ONE in love.

I really like this piece, as people have said before me I like the way you revisit the eigth and ninth again and again and yet they are all days. I'm actually searching for something on the creative side I can criticise (constuctivly) but I'm not an expert in poetry and to be honest I can't find a single thing. Really impressive stuff.
