Mature gent by mature gent

Hi I am a retired publican who is enjoying life to the full. Joined Blackpool Writers circle we meet once a fornight to share and enjoy our writing. I have started to write a book on our three pubs, three very differen't businesses, each has its own unique story to tell. I write short simple verse that relates to todays stresses and hopes in life, they are not poetry but have over a number of years just popped in my head through what may have happened to highlight the feeling. not being the best in literature, I am hoping that joining you this will improve and look forward to any comments

I enjoy your writing very much. It is truely honest and creative. True insperation.
The trick is don't think to much about it just let it happen.

I want you to know that the poem "these Things I Wish For You" was a gift I gave my son on his fourteenth birthday. I was two thousand miles away from him at the time. I had no money, no job,  I had nothing else to give him. So I wrote that for him.
