Dad, you have been gone for a little while
But I still miss your beautiful smile
I miss your gentle voice, your loving words
Your kind thoughts, they gave peace to my heart.

I look around and I still see you
For in my heart, you are always here
Your memories still linger
There is no other Dad like you.

God made great Fathers like you
And I was lucky to have you
I would forever be grateful to you
For making me feel great like you.

You have gone to Our Father's Home
Then, when it is time for me to go
Dad, I know You will be there
With open arms to Welcome me Home.

Excellent poem, libran88. This reminds me of my Dad who passed away in 2006. I have always considered him as the greatest man on earth with his wisdom and beautiful persona. I will forever miss him.

Possum, as always, thank you for taking an interest in reading my work. It makes me feel good if I could share my work with others and in doing so, some might be able to relate with their own experiences.
I wrote this poem to honour my Father, a great man, in life and in death.

A heartfelt set of sentiments, perfectly expressed.
Have nothing more to say really other than that.

Thanks for sharing.

Keiron, thank you for your warm comments. While writing this poem, I could feel the sadness in my heart but at the same time, the happiness of having a great Father like my Dad.
