What I Need

I need the trees to hold onto me and say that it's ok
I need the leaves to shade me from the sun's way
I need the branches to sway and let me dance around
I need the rustling foliage to remind me of natural sounds

The grass at my ankles and nettles at my wrists
Holding onto crops and tugging with my fists
To feel the natural world in the movement of my hand
And realise everything's easy to understand

To watch a small bird beyond a cloud fly away
To remember I'll do that in my time of day
In the sky I can't see is where my future flies
As I wait on tree trunks, stop worrying and close my eyes.

Earthy, heavy with natural world imagery that speaks of calm and of a place we all have natural need to inhabit some times.
