The Writers' Circle

July
	"Emery.....you know what we have to do." Jalen said.
	"Yes, I know. I love you so much, but I wish we hadn't done the thing we did." Emery said.
	"Are we ready to go and tell our parents?" Jalen said. 
	"As ready as we will ever be," Emery said as they opened the door to her house.


September
	"Emery, do you think you might be pregnant?" Emery's mother asked.
	"You know that my period has been extremely irregular this year. I've been feeling so nauseous and I know I've gained some weight, but I just don't know if I'm pregnant or if it could just be another ovarian cyst. I had a light period last week, some cramps like last time I had a cyst. But part of me just wonders. This is just another moment that I wish Jalen and I hadn't had sex, because if we hadn't I wouldn't have to wonder," Emery replied. 
	"I can't agree more. But just to be on the safe side, lets make you an appointment so that either way we know. And if it is another cyst, we'll definitely have to get that taken care of so that you wont have problems having children in the future. Honey, its been rough the last few months between us. But I want you to know that I love you and I will support you in whatever happens." Emery's mother says.
	"Thank you, Mom. That means a lot to me. Even though I have disappointed you and Dad, I'm grateful that you've found it in your heart to forgive me."

Doctor's office:
	"So you think you may be pregnant?" Dr. Erics asks.
	"Yes, I've had an irregular period this last year, and earlier this year I had an ovarian cyst that resolved itself. But in the last month or two I feel nauseous all the time and I know I've gained weight. I've had some spotting and a light period, but  And I just feel different, I don't quite know how to explain it," Emery said.
	"Okay, well we'll do a pregnancy test and an ultrasound to make sure you don't have any new ovarian cysts. I'm glad you came in," Dr. Erics replies as he leaves the room. 
	A little while later the doctor came back in afer the results of the test came back. 
	"Well, Emery it looks as though you have another ovarian cyst," Dr. Erics states.
	"So I'm not pregnant?" Emery asks.
	"No, you're not pregnant. But I wouldn't be surprised if you gain some more weight because of this cyst. So don't be alarmed. We'll keep an eye on it for a few months and if it doesn't clear up by itself we may need to remove it," Dr. Erics says.
	"Thank you, Dr. Erics, that's the best news I've heard all day!" Emery said. She couldn't wait to tell Jalen that she wasn't pregnant. Although she wanted to have kids someday she didn't want to have any now.

        For some reason Emery couldn't let go of the feeling that there was  something more than ovarian cysts wrong with her. She had gained a lot more weight than she thought she would. Hopefully, at her next doctor's visit her doctor wouldn't be so cryptic.



(This is just an idea that I've been thinking about. Let me know what you think of the mystery that's building. I was kind of inspired by the show "I didn't know I was pregnant")
