Small something

My tutour gives us warm up starters to do at the start of our class. Sara writes a few lines and we add our short after it. This is a recent one.

Julie slams the door and runs down the path shouting,
'I wish you were dead!!'

Then she hears the gunshot

Or at least it sounded like one. Was it just wishful thinking on her behalf? In sudden regret of her thoughts she turns and looks up at the house, trying to seek his face in one of the windows. In a sudden panic she runs back towards the house, fumbling in her pocket for the door key. Julie curses as her shaking hand has trouble fitting the key in the lock. Every delayed second she imagines his corpse lying on the living room floor. His lifeless hand still clutching the smoking shotgun. Panic and fear makes her run down the hall shouting his name in anguish, fearing she will find him in a pool of blood.
She bursts into the sitting room just as a loud burst of machine gun fire makes her duck unintentionally. 'He's playing that bloody Play station again'!
