Cliches

Can I use Clichés?

Clichés are words or phrases used so often that their original meanings have become worn out and useless. They irritate readers rather than provide any insights or pleasure. For me they weaken a good piece of writing as they lack originality and individual sparkle. From personal experience I know publishers do not like them and prefer to read experiences and situations in a new way. So don't reach for the easy solution. Strive to show your character, personality and experiences as you are. Look for unique comparisons, metaphors, and similes there must be hundreds and thousands out there.
Good writing

I do love cliches sometimes especially when used ironically. Means I am strange?
