Half a Moon over Pushkar Lake

Half a moon over Pushkar Lake,
shining on Brahma's temple.
The camel fair is here in town,
in this oasis of India.

The gypsy girls with henna paints,
look for preys who would accede.
The gypsy boys with bamboo tunes,
perform amidst the desert heat.

Camels mingle with sacred cows,
the tourists mix with gypsies.
Hindu bathers at holy ghats,
saddhus comb and roam the city.

Festivities will reach their peak,
When the bright full moon appears.
Candles around the holy lake,
Are memories that I hold dear.

A really like this poem. Love the imagery. However, I don't understand 'look for preys who would accede.'

Pushkar is an oasis in the desert of Rajasthan, and every year, when the camel fair is in town, more gypsies appear than ever. They are very friendly, but initially, it can be daunting when they swoop towards you like birds of prey, trying to get you to have your palm painted with henna in beautiful designs. They then insist that you should pay them exorbitant amounts as they need the money to survive. After the "first encounter", they will usually just stop to chat or invite you to their tents for music and tea... It´s no wonder, from their "trade", that the Indians say that the gypsies are the richest people in the oasis.

Hence, "preys who would accede" refers to the tourists who would gullibly pay the amounts initially asked for.
