Nightmares
As I drift off to dreamland, I take another route,
One that I don’t usually take.
Instead of happiness, there is darkness.
Rather than comfort, there is anxiety.
Something doesn’t feel so right,
And I realize I’ve been sent to a different place.
I’m in a world of fear, and horror.
A world where you’re never too lucky.
Monsters chase you, you fall off of cliffs,
Suspicious strangers appear in front of you.
You lose someone you love, all you have is gone,
You get hurt physically, and emotionally.
It’s a place where you feel like it’s really the end,
And it seems like you’ll never feel joy again;
That the rest of your life is full of terror.
But then it fades away in a flash!
You wake up terrified, but soon you realize,
It was just another nightmare.
